Christoph von Praun's Background

I have worked on a variety of analysis techniques and runtime platforms for parallel programs. My most recent research studies programming models and tools that support transactional synchronization. Previous work, which I also did at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, addressed efficient synchronization mechanisms in multiprocessor architectures. I have been a member of the team that designed the programming language X10. I received a Diploma in Computer Science from the Technische Universität München and a doctoral degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). Before joining ETH I was a Fellow at CERN in Geneva.
